Lauren Mackey is an associate in the Technology Transactions practice group and a member of the Cooley's Business department. She joined the Firm in 2006 and is a resident in the Colorado office.
Ms. Mackey's practice consists of counseling clients on various intellectual property and technology related transactions, with a particular emphasis on information technology and life science companies. Her practice involves negotiating and drafting software licensing agreements, strategic collaboration agreements, application service provider agreements, distribution/reseller agreements, and content licensing and hosting arrangements.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Mackey served as Director of Operations for Fastcase, Inc., a digital legal research company. She was also a volunteer with the Peace Corps in Dandoli, Mali, where her work focused on strengthening both microfinance and tourism initiatives. She is conversationally proficient in French, Donoso, and Bambara.
Ms. Mackey received a J.D. from the University of Chicago, where she interned for a human rights organization in Nigeria and volunteered in an asylum law clinic. She received her B.A. in political science from Mount Holyoke College, and studied at Oxford University.
Ms. Mackey is admitted to practice before the Colorado bar.
