Maricel Mojares-Moore is special counsel in the Credit Finance and Debt Securities practice groups and a member of the Cooley Business department. She joined the Firm as a lateral associate in 1999 and is resident in the San Francisco office.
Ms. Moore's practice is focused on various financing transactions, including acquisition financings, "high yield" and other subordinated debt financings, public and private offerings of convertible and other debt securities, asset-based financings, secured financings and lease financings. She is experienced in the representation of emerging companies, public companies, individual investors, venture investment funds, banks and other financial institutions in the negotiation, structuring and documentation of such financings.
Prior to joining Cooley, Ms. Moore was an associate at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd in Chicago, Illinois where her practice focused on acquisition financings, real-estate based financings, mergers and acquisitions and public and private offerings of high yield and other debt securities. Prior to working with Bell, Boyd, Ms. Moore spent a year as an international tax accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Chicago, Illinois.
Ms. Moore received her J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law in 1994. She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan School of Business in 1990, receiving a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. At the University of Michigan, Ms. Moore graduated Phi Beta Kappa in the top 10 percent of her class and earned membership to the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic honor society.
Ms. Moore was admitted to the Illinois bar in 1994 and the California bar in 2001 and is a member of the American Bar Association. She is also a certified public accountant.
